The U.S. Supreme Court temporarily stayed a Fourth Circuit ruling on gender identity and Title IX Wednesday.

The 5-4 decision in Town of Greece v. Galloway shows how far the ground has shifted under the Establishment Clause in the last 30 years.

With the exception of himself and a few friends in black robes, the chief justice seems to view the federal government as a bunch of power-hungry hacks.
